Run Peachtree Road Race in less than 1 hour (July 2011)
Check & CHECK!
I’m really proud of this one because I worked so hard for it. Last year I ran it in 1:00:01 (that’s 1 second extra there…ouch).
This year? 51:51!
Mark and I both finished in the top 5,000 (of 60,000) and I finished in the top 5% of my age group (25-29). I was so excited! Yay!
I wish I could have taken pictures of all the people who came out to create a “cheerleading wall” along the entire 6.2 miles. There were so many people having a blast cheering everyone on.
I saw lots of signs but one that stuck with me. It said: “Pain is temporary, pride is forever.” It is always one of my favorite times in Atlanta.
My reward? The BIGGEST piece of warm blueberry pie with strawberries and whipped cream on top that I could manage!
