I wouldn’t be honest in blogging about my little healthy lifestyle makeover if I didn’t digress all of my failures as well. This weekend felt like an epic fail.
I am really upset with the double golden arches, but it’s not all their fault. There was the buffalo chicken dip and the Sweetwater Brewery tour on Saturday and of course brunch on Sunday at Bab’s didn’t help, or the late night pretzels and cheese and the Baby Browns. I somehow managed to revolt against my healthy changes in every possible way this weekend.
Parties are a diets devil and we had 2 parties this weekend. And my vice is all things with cheese. It’s so rich and indulgent and I don’t eat a ton of cheese normally, so when I saw the sausage queso dip and buffalo chicken dip I came unhinged.
Our festive Derby Day started with a tour of the Sweetwater Brewery. One positive: It was on my “30 Before 30 List!” Check. Beer is not a friend to a healthy lifestyle with empty calories and carbs galore – just dying to set up shop on your tummy, but….I indulged.
And there were those big, golden arches. I hadn’t ate fast food in months. By the point, it was my only option and, like a child deprived on candy, I didn’t hold back and immediately regretted the decision 30 minutes later. Haven’t we all been there? *sigh*
My conclusion. Weekends are my downfall. Eek.
So what? What am I going to do? Be sad and feel bad about myself all week? That doesn’t really do much for me. I fell off the wagon. I’m only human. It’s how I respond that matters. And I had a lot of fun this weekend, can’t complain about that.
So it’s Monday and the start of a new week. Yea for getting to start over! 🙂 And the buffalo chicken dip was totally worth it. mmmmmmm…….
